Siberian pea shrubs are medium-sized nitrogen fixing shrubs. They can handle a variety of soil types and their nitrogen fixation makes them great for restoring degraded soils. Siberian pea shrubs can grow just fine in very cold climates. The foliage is similar-looking to pea vines and they produce tiny edible peas that are useful as livestock feed. The fragrant flowers also resemble a garden pea vine and provide good pollinator support. Siberian pea shrubs work well in hedgerows or interplanting with other tree species.
