Description

Pecans, if you don't already know, are actually hickory trees. Our northern pecans are seed grown from parents who have survived -20°F temperatures. The nuts themselves have a similar flavor to commercially grown nuts but are a little bit smaller. The genetics come from the northernmost reaches of the pecan’s natural range in Illinois. The nuts may not ripen fully some years in colder regions, but the trees can survive to at least Zone 5.
